LAST OPEN DAY WAS THURSDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2010

            The door of our branch office curved like the side of a barrel.   Why did we “seal” it for the last time?   

            You’ll recall that it was on 12/31/09 that Cal Feminist merged with Women’s Southwest Federal Credit Union (WSFCU); we became WSFCU’s Pacific   Coast Branch. 

            Teri & Denise run our Main Office in Dallas .  Thanks to them, my co-worker Rita & I have been able to spend some of our time having lives outside of the credit union!   I’ve loved being able to spend more time with my mom, who is in her 90s.

            My conscience bothered me:  Teri & Denise do most of the work—yet they have no health insurance!  Rita & I do, and it continued after our branch office closed.

            And the money WSFCU saves on rent etc. will pay for medical

insurance for Teri & Denise.   Worth it!

            Rita & I remain involved behind the scenes:  sitting in on board

meetings, editing the newsletter, etc.  But we’ll also get to relax more:

            Rita’s photography skills?  She wants to develop them.
